This painting was inspired by the darkness of this Dunya, the distractions and calamities that seize and leave us in despair.

I chose the verse from Surah Nur;

"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth"

Surah An-Nur Verse 35

As a reminder that Allah swt is the source of guidance to bring ourselves out of dependence on this dunya and hardships that overwhelm and sometimes overtake us. The light of Allah is not physical light made of photons travelling in the form of electromagnetic waves. The subject matter is actually the light of Allaah’s guidance and faith in Him

This piece was my attempt to paint the beauty of that guidance and I hope it serves as a reminder to you that you are never alone the darkness.
